ARDEX FG 8 is a smooth, flexible coloured cement-based grout for wall and floor tile joints from 1mm to 8mm. Polymer fortification helps reduce cracking, while ARDEX highlights strong colour consistency, mould resistance and water repellence for clean, durable joints in internal and external tiling.

Joint width and tile compatibility

ARDEX specifies FG 8 for joints from 1mm to 8mm. It can be used with ceramic and porcelain tiles, terrazzo, slate, quarry tiles, mosaics and moisture-insensitive natural stone.

Swimming pools

For swimming pools, ARDEX specifies Kosciuszko White (201) mixed with ARDEX Grout Booster. Pool chemistry, curing and system requirements must follow the current ARDEX technical data sheet.

Important limitations

Do not use cementitious grout for movement or expansion joints; use the specified flexible sealant. Chemical-resistant joints require an appropriate epoxy grout. Porous, textured or moisture-sensitive surfaces should be tested before grouting and may require sealing or another grout system.

Complete the ARDEX tiling system

For suitable tile fixing, compare ARDEX X 17 Tile Adhesive. Where additional grout performance is specified, use ARDEX Grout Booster. Always allow the tile adhesive to cure before grouting and follow the current ARDEX data sheet and AS 3958.

Uses & Benefits  
Smooth polymer-fortified cement grout for internal and external wall and floor joints from 1mm to 8mm. Classified CG2W to ISO 13007. Contains ARDEX Grout Shield to combat mould growth. Suitable for ceramic, porcelain, glass, terrazzo, quarry tile, slate and moisture-insensitive natural stone. Pot life is about 1 hour at 23°C and 50% relative humidity.
How To Apply  
Allow the tile adhesive to set before grouting and make sure joints are clean. Mix and apply within the approximately 1-hour pot life. Pack joints fully from 1mm to 8mm wide and remove excess grout from the tile face. Use minimal clean-up water to reduce shade variation and efflorescence. Allow about 24 hours before light traffic. Wait 7 days before applying grout sealers. Pool installations require the specified Grout Booster and cure period.
Limitations and Safety Info  
Do not use where chemical resistance is required. Use an ARDEX epoxy grout instead. Do not fill expansion or movement joints with FG8. Use a compatible flexible sealant. Seal porous-faced tiles such as terracotta before grouting. Test textured, absorbent or matt tiles and sensitive stone for cleanability and staining before full application. For swimming pools, follow ARDEX's colour, booster and cure requirements. Public pools require an ARDEX epoxy grout system.
