Frequently Asked Questions
What are these products for?
Draining external areas: driveways, patios, pool surrounds, balconies, and roofs. The range includes heavy-duty Lauxes stormwater channels for driveways, a deeper external tile-insert channel, and Fatra roof and wall outlets for membrane roof systems.
What does a stormwater channel do that a bathroom channel does not?
It takes vehicle loads. The Lauxes 128 and NXT35 stormwater channels are rated for driveways and high-traffic external areas. A bathroom channel is not built for that weight. Check the load class before you put a channel in a driveway.
What is a Fatra rainwater outlet?
A roof drainage fitting for a Fatrafol PVC membrane roof. It has a bonded PVC sleeve that welds to the membrane, making the outlet and roof waterproofing one sealed unit. Buy it as part of the roof system, not as a standalone waste.
What is the difference between a wall outlet and a floor waste?
A floor waste drains a hole in a floor. A wall outlet discharges water through a wall or roof edge. Fatra wall outlets and overflows handle roof and wall drainage, where water leaves through the building envelope, not down through a slab.
Can I use the Tile Insert Plus channel in a bathroom?
It is built for external paving, stone, travertine, patios, and balconies, not for a wet-area floor. The body is deeper and the load rating is higher. If you need a bathroom tile-insert channel, look at the wet-area linear channel range instead.
