Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I use acrylic construction adhesive?
On sub-floors, wall sheeting, and mouldings. These water-based adhesives grab at once and stay flexible. They stop squeaks in tongue-and-groove floors as the timber dries.
Do acrylic adhesives meet Australian standards?
Yes. Multi-Grip and Multi-Tack comply with AS 2753 for plasterboard wallboards and AS 2329 for other wallboards. Use them for compliant wall fixing.
Can acrylic adhesive touch polystyrene foam?
Yes. Multi-Tack is safe on polystyrene. It has no aggressive solvents, so the foam does not melt. The water-based formula also keeps fumes low indoors.
How do I clean up acrylic construction adhesive?
With water, while it is wet. Wipe the squeezed-out adhesive away before it cures. Cured adhesive will not come off with water alone. Match the product spec to the job conditions before you start.
Can acrylic adhesives go under water?
No. Keep them out of constant immersion and off saturated surfaces. They bond slightly damp materials. Wet-area and marine jobs need polyurethane or epoxy.
How much adhesive do I need per metre?
A 6 mm bead covers about 9 lineal metres. That is per 600 ml sausage for Multi-Grip and per 300 ml cartridge for Multi-Tack. Run two beads 25 mm apart where sheets butt.
