Industrial Wipes & Rags

When you're cleaning up bitumen overspray, wiping excess sealant, or degreasing tools between applications, the wrong rag leaves lint, scratches, or colour transfer — and that means rework. This range covers two types: heavy-duty compostable wipes built for aggressive residue removal on rough surfaces, and lint-free white cotton rags for...

Frequently Asked Questions

What are joint-preparation wipes used for?
Preparation wipes remove dust, dirt and residue from the bond area before primer or sealant is applied. A clean, dry surface improves wetting and reduces contamination in the joint. Use a fresh section of wipe, follow the sealant system’s solvent instructions and allow the surface to dry before continuing.
Can wipes replace a solvent?
Wipes may remove light surface contamination, but they do not replace a specified cleaner or solvent in every system. Heavy residue, oils or adhesive contamination may require a compatible cleaning solvent. Follow the product technical data and use only materials approved for the substrate and sealant system.
How do I prepare a joint before caulking?
Remove loose material, dust and failed sealant, then clean the bond faces and allow them to dry. Protect adjacent finishes where needed. If the joint requires backing rod or primer, install and apply those materials according to the system instructions before extruding the sealant bead.
Can I use the same wipe for every surface?
No. Some solvents or wipe materials can damage plastics, coatings, painted surfaces or sensitive finishes. Confirm compatibility with the substrate and test an inconspicuous area where risk is high. Use lint-free materials and avoid transferring contamination back onto the prepared joint.
When is the surface ready for sealant?
The surface is ready when it is sound, clean, dry and free from residues that could interfere with adhesion. Primer, if specified, must also be applied and dried within its working window. Do not apply sealant over condensation, visible solvent or loose dust.
