Frequently Asked Questions

Which caulking gun do I need?
Match the gun to the pack format and capacity of the sealant: cartridge guns suit cartridge products, sausage guns suit foil sausages, and twin-component guns suit two-part cartridges. Check the pack size and ratio before ordering. A correct match gives smoother extrusion and avoids damaging the pack.
What is the difference between cartridge and sausage guns?
Cartridge guns hold rigid cartridges, while sausage guns use flexible foil packs and usually support higher-volume application. The choice depends on the sealant pack supplied and the amount of joint to complete. Do not use a sausage gun with a cartridge or a cartridge gun with a sausage pack.
Are cordless guns suitable for professional work?
Cordless guns can improve consistency and reduce hand fatigue on long joints, provided their thrust and speed range suit the material. Check compatibility with the sealant viscosity and pack format. Keep the nozzle controlled and release pressure at the end of each bead to reduce material run-on.
What is a twin-component gun used for?
Twin-component guns dispense two-part products from matched dual cartridges. The gun must match the cartridge volume and mixing ratio, and it normally requires the correct static mixer nozzle. Follow the adhesive manufacturer’s instructions for assembly, purge and working time.
How do I keep a gun working well?
Fit the correct plunger, nozzle and pack, keep the mechanism clean and release pressure when pausing. Remove cured material before it obstructs the plunger or trigger. Replace worn plungers and use the manufacturer’s loading method so the pack is not punctured or distorted.
