Hi-Flex Construction is a high-performance, single-component elastomeric sealant based on MS Polymer technology. It features neutral curing and low modulus, with movement capability up to 50% of the joint width, making it ideal for sealing and bonding applications. The product is resistant to UV, weathering, and mould, making it suitable for both internal and external use across multiple industries, including construction, automotive, marine, and more.

Key Features

  • Outstanding primer-less adhesion on non-porous substrates
  • Movement capability up to +/- 50%
  • Non-bleeding, non-staining formulation
  • Free from isocyanates, solvents, or acids
  • Paintable with acrylic, oil, and rubber-based paints
  • UV and weathering resistant for long-term durability
  • Ready-to-use, single-component formulation
  • Low VOC, non-toxic, and environmentally friendly
  • Excellent adhesion to common building materials, including powder-coated surfaces
  • High flexibility and non-corrosive

Suitable Substrates

  • Concrete, masonry, and brick
  • Metal (excluding lead and copper)
  • Timber, stone, painted surfaces, and plastics
  • Porcelain, powder coat, aluminium, and waterproof membranes

Uses

  • Mechanically fixed joints
  • Perimeter sealing of windows and curtain walls
  • Expansion joints in precast and tilt-up panels
  • Cladding and modern facade panel sealing
  • General construction bonding and sealing
  • Acoustic ceiling tiles and bolted lap joints
  • Sealing prefabricated buildings or concrete panels
  • Fibreglass, display signs, aluminium fabrication
  • Automotive and marine manufacturing applications

Benefits

  • Non-corrosive to common surfaces like galvanized steel and concrete
  • Maintains waterproof, flexible joints
  • Resistant to mould and mildew in hot, humid environments
  • Excellent tooling properties—easy to apply and smooth out
  • Low odour formulation suitable for confined environments
  • Proven long-term resilience and high durability
  • Compatible with cementitious, ceramic, wood, glass, metal, and plastic substrates

Application Guide

  1. Surface Preparation: Ensure all surfaces are structurally sound, dry, and clean from dust, oils, and contaminants. For porous substrates, priming with Everflex Supaprime is recommended.
  2. Application: For joints, apply Hi-Flex Construction using a cartridge gun. Cut the nozzle at a 45-degree angle and push the sealant ahead of the nozzle to ensure full contact with the sides of the joint. For bonding applications, cut the nozzle at a 90-degree angle, ensuring a triangular bead is applied. Compress the surfaces together to achieve adhesion.
  3. Curing Time: The sealant skins in approximately 10 minutes, and cures at a rate of 3mm per 24 hours. Cure times may vary depending on atmospheric conditions and substrate porosity.
  4. Clean-Up: While the sealant is wet, clean tools with Xylene. Once cured, mechanical removal is necessary.

Limitations

  • Not suitable for long-term water immersion or swimming pools
  • Cannot be used in totally confined spaces due to the need for humidity curing
  • Avoid use with chlorine exposure or in aquarium applications
  • Not recommended for structural glazing or mirror bonding
  • May cause discolouration on copper and brass surfaces
  • Avoid using on bituminous surfaces or where compounds may leach solvents
