How soon can a vehicle be driven after a bonded windscreen?
NP-60 passes the FMVSS 212 crash requirement with dual airbags after one hour of cure at 23 degrees C and 50% relative humidity. Press the windscreen in before the adhesive skins, within 20 to 35 minutes at 23 degrees C.
Do I apply NP-60 primerless?
On ceramic-band glass, yes. Clean and abrade the band, then bond NP-60 primerless. On plain glass, prepare first with Autoshield Activator and Autoshield GB Primer, then apply the adhesive.
How is NP-60 applied?
Apply the adhesive in a triangular bead around the glass edge, then press the windscreen in before it skins, within 20 to 35 minutes at 23 degrees C. The bead profile and skin timing create the structural bond.
What temperatures can the cured bond withstand?
The cured NP-60 joint resists -40 degrees C to 90 degrees C, elongates over 700% per ISO 37 to absorb body twist and road impact, and cures at about 3 mm per 24 hours.
What must I avoid when applying NP-60?
Never clean old polyurethane with alcohol. It inhibits the cure. Do not apply over cured or uncured silicone or hybrid sealants, including MS, SPUR or STPE chemistries. Do not apply below 5 degrees C.
