Which adhesive should I use for caravan panels and trim?
A contact adhesive. Coat both surfaces, let the solvent flash off for three to five minutes, then press the parts together under firm, even pressure. Brush, spray and clear grades cover panels, foam, textiles, trim and edging.
When is a spray contact adhesive the better choice?
On large or awkward areas. Spray Contact SP-230 covers foam and textile surfaces faster than a brush, for steps, wheel arches, seat brackets and side walls. Control the overspray and let both surfaces flash off before you join them.
When do I need High Power 609?
When the bond must hold at once, without clamps. It gives instant grab and an elastic structural bond on prepared aluminium, stainless steel and glazed surfaces. It suits transport assembly work where parts cannot be held in place.
How do I prepare surfaces before bonding?
Clean, dry and free of grease, dust and loose material. Abrade glossy faces where the product sheet asks for it. On fibreglass, rubber and other non-porous surfaces, use Primer 50A first, then bond within the stated window.
Can I use one adhesive for every caravan material?
No. Suitability depends on the foam, textile, rubber or panel type, the temperature, and the service the part will see. Check the product sheet for your materials, and trial the actual substrates before you commit a full assembly.
