What tools do I need to install a welded sheet membrane?
A hot-air heat gun for manual welding at corners, penetrations and detail work, and a semi-automatic welder for long straight seams. Leister Triac AT or ST are the heat guns. Leister Unidrive 500 is the welder. Bond PVC and thermoplastic sheets into a continuous seal.
Can I use a heat gun for other waterproofing work?
No. A hot-air heat gun is for thermoplastic and PVC sheet-membrane systems only. It is not for liquid-applied membranes, cementitious coatings or self-adhesive bitumen sheets. Match the tool to the membrane.
What is the difference between a heat gun and a semi-automatic welder?
