Application Guide

  1. Surface Preparation:
Ensure surfaces are stable, dry, clean, and free of dust, oils, and other contaminants. Concrete should be cured for at least 28 days. Remove loose rust from any exposed steel using blasting or mechanical methods.
  2. Edge Profiling:
Use reinforced cloth tape around the repair area for straight edges. If needed, set up formwork using carnauba wax or coreflute board for easy release.
  3. Priming:
Mix equal parts of EverKrete 2P Primer (Part A and Part B) for 2 minutes using a power mixer. Apply a smooth, thin coat onto the surface and let it dry until tacky. Avoid letting it dry too long before applying EverKrete.
  4. Measure Dry Components:
Calculate the amount of mortar needed using the coverage chart. Measure and set aside the required sand or aggregates. Only prepare what you can apply within 15-20 minutes.
  5. Mix EverKrete 102:
Stir the contents of the EverKrete 102 container using a power mixer to ensure even distribution.
  6. Measure Pail:
Pour the required amount of EverKrete 102 into a measuring pail. Make sure the primer is still tacky when you apply the mortar, and apply it on the same day.
  7. Catalyze:
Add the correct amount of EverKrete Catalyst to the EverKrete 102 and mix for 30-60 seconds. The mix ratio is 1 part catalyst to 100 parts EverKrete, or up to 3:100 for faster curing.
  8. Make the Mortar:
Gradually add the pre-measured dry components (sand or aggregates) while mixing continuously. Make sure to use only kiln-dried materials.
  9. Trowel the Mortar:
Apply EverKrete to the repair area without over-troweling. For a smooth finish, wipe your trowel with acetone (do not apply acetone directly to the mortar).
  10. Remove Tape & Return to Traffic:
Remove the tape before EverKrete fully cures. The area can typically handle traffic after 45-90 minutes.

Limitations

  • Do not use if the surface temperature is below -18°C or above +35°C.
  • If not using EverKrete Accelerator, ensure the surface temperature is between 10°C and +35°C.
  • Do not apply on damp, wet, or contaminated substrates, or if rain is imminent.
  • For vertical applications exceeding 50mm in thickness, multiple layers are required.
  • For overhead applications exceeding 20mm, multiple layers are required.
  • Avoid application on surfaces that have not been adequately cleaned or prepared.
