Everflex WBP is a concrete-compatible, water-based acrylic polymer emulsion formulated to prepare porous substrates for high-performance waterproofing membranes. By penetrating deep into surfaces like concrete, render, and fibre cement sheeting, it effectively beds down residual dust and stabilizes friable layers to prevent subsequent membrane bubbling or lifting.
This low-VOC sealer meets Green Star environmental criteria, making it suitable for high-density residential or commercial internal wet areas where air quality and strict compliance are required. Contractors must ensure the substrate is clean and dry before applying at a rate of 4sqm/L to achieve a continuous seal that maintains watertight integrity.
Application should be avoided on non-porous surfaces such as metal, glazed tiles, or polished concrete to prevent adhesion failure.
Everflex WBP is suitable for porous internal substrates such as concrete, fibre cement sheeting, cement render, and masonry surfaces.
It is specifically formulated to improve the bond of Adheseal waterproofing membranes and is also compatible with most acrylic membrane systems.
Everflex WBP is intended for internal use only. For external porous surfaces, consider using a different primer such as Everflex VBS or Primer 2001.
No dilution is required. Use as supplied unless directed by Adheseal technical support.
Allow the primer to fully dry — typically 30 minutes at 25°C. Ensure surface is tack-free before membrane application.
| Application / Use Case | Key Benefit | Primary Trades |
|---|---|---|
| Priming internal concrete slabs before waterproofing | Seals dust and porosity to ensure proper membrane adhesion | Waterproofers, Builders |
| Treating FC sheet or cement wall lining in bathrooms | Improves coverage and bonding of internal waterproofing membranes | Tilers, Renovation Contractors |
| Under membrane in laundries, kitchens, or plant rooms | Enhances waterproofing performance in high-moisture internal zones | Facility Maintenance, Commercial Fit-Out Teams |
| Stabilising cement renders and screeds prior to coating | Reduces absorbency and evens substrate profile for waterproofing systems | Renderers, Waterproofing Applicators |
| Substrate preparation in Green Star or eco-certified projects | Low VOC and environmentally compliant for sustainable construction | Green Builders, Specifiers, Architects |
Ensure the substrate is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, curing agents, or laitance. Vacuum or sweep thoroughly.
If separation has occurred, stir gently with a clean paddle. Do not shake vigorously to avoid air entrapment.
Apply a uniform coat using brush, roller, or low-pressure spray. Ensure full coverage without ponding.
Allow primer to dry for approximately 30 minutes at 25°C. Surface must be tack-free before overcoating.
Once dry, apply Adheseal waterproofing membrane as per technical instructions. Do not leave WBP exposed for extended periods.
Wear gloves and eye protection during application. Avoid skin contact with wet material.
Use in well-ventilated areas. Avoid inhaling mist or vapours if sprayed.
Store in a sealed container between 5°C and 30°C. Protect from freezing. Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.
Refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for full safety instructions.
Ensure slab is clean, dry, and free from laitance, dust, oil, or curing compounds.
Apply one even coat with a roller or brush. Allow to dry fully before membrane installation.
Clean dust and debris from sheeting surface. Check for structural fixings and joints.
Improves bond uniformity of waterproofing membranes over FC sheeting.
Render must be cured, clean, and free of dust or loose material. Vacuum if necessary.
Reduces porosity and prevents suction of moisture from membrane layers.
Ensure surface is dry and free of loose grit or efflorescence. Remove contaminants.
Stabilises dusting masonry and enhances membrane adhesion performance.
