Faster setting and early strength can help keep concrete production moving, particularly in cooler conditions. SikaRapid®-22 AU is a non-chloride setting and hardening accelerator for concrete, mortar and grout. It is designed for premix and precast applications where early finishing, formwork turnover or a shorter hardening period matter.
Early-strength concrete for precast and premix work
Use SikaRapid-22 AU in suitable mix designs to support faster surface finishing, slip-form operations and reduced precast formwork turnaround. The non-chloride formulation is suitable for specified reinforced and prestressed concrete and meets the applicable accelerator requirements of AS 1478.1-2000 (Ac).
Dosage and batching
The typical dose is 500–2,000 mL per 100 kg of total cementitious material; confirm the target setting time and strength through trials with the actual cement and aggregates. Introduce with the batching water or a suitably mixed concrete load, never into dry mix. Do not combine with shrinkage-compensating admixtures; verify compatibility with other concrete additives.
Pack size
Supplied here in a 10 L container. Refer to the current Sika Australian product data sheet for site batching, mixing time and storage conditions.
