What is a backer rod used for?
Backer rod controls the depth of a sealant joint. It sits behind the sealant and supports a correct hour-glass shape. Closed-cell polyethylene rods in this range resist water absorption. Open-cell foam rods allow joint movement.
When should I use a smooth scraper spatula?
Use a smooth scraper to tool and finish sealant joints. The stainless steel blade gives a clean surface on acrylic, polyurethane, and hybrid polymer sealants. Tool the joint within the skin-over time stated on the cartridge.
What nozzle size do I need?
