  • Preparing surfaces for Gripset membrane coatings, adhesives, and mortars
  • Enhancing adhesion on metals (e.g., galvanized iron, zincalume, aluminium, stainless steel, copper, brass, colorbond)
  • Priming precast and tilt-up concrete, glass-reinforced concrete (GRC)
  • Preparing hardwood and dense timber surfaces
  • Priming existing tiles, vitrified tiles, and natural stone
  • Priming brickwork, cement sheeting, plasterboard, and marine plywood
  • Enhancing adhesion on polymer mortars, synthetic mortars, and smooth self-levelling compounds

How To Apply  

Application Guide

  1. Prepare surfaces thoroughly, ensuring they are structurally sound, smooth, stable, dry, and clean.
  2. Repair any surface defects or irregularities.
  3. Stir Gripset OP well before use.
  4. Apply evenly using a low/medium nap roller or long bristle brush.
  5. For spray application, consult Gripset Technical Services.
  6. On smooth, non-porous surfaces, apply a minimum coverage of 1 litre/12m². Adjust coverage based on substrate absorbency.
  7. For tiling over existing tiles in non-wet areas, apply 2 coats of Gripset OP.
Limitations  

Limitations

  • Not suitable for areas with rising damp or negative hydrostatic pressure.
  • Not designed as a trafficable/exposed surface finish.
  • Not suitable for direct application of solvent-based materials (adhesives, coatings, paints).
  • Must be overcoated with a suitable under-tile membrane system when tiling over existing tiles in wet areas.
