Bonding plastic glazing into a boat calls for a different sealant from general marine joint sealing. Sikaflex®-295 UV is a moisture-curing polyurethane adhesive developed for marine organic glazing, including suitable acrylic (PMMA) and polycarbonate windows, where weather exposure and substrate compatibility are critical.
Marine windows, hatches and exposed glazing joints
Use Sikaflex-295 UV within a properly designed glazing system for approved plastic windows and marine glazing assemblies. It also suits specified interior and exterior sealing joints. Its weatherability helps protect exposed glazing installations, but correct surface pretreatment and joint design remain essential.
Choose the correct marine Sikaflex
For general elastic boatbuilding joints rather than plastic window bonding, compare Sikaflex-291. Mineral glass glazing requires a different approved Sika system. Always test stress-cracking-sensitive glazing materials and follow Sika's marine pretreatment chart and current product data sheet before bonding.
