For bonding mitre joints, natural stone, and porcelain where a visible glue line would ruin the finish, Megapoxy 63 is a translucent, high-strength epoxy gel. This solvent-free adhesive allows for thin film applications and can be tinted with pigment pastes to match the exact colour of the stone, masonry, or ceramic substrate.

High-strength structural bonding

Megapoxy 63 is a 100% solids epoxy adhesive gel that does not shrink during cure, preventing tension in tight mitred joins and repairs. Its thick gel texture blends easily and spreads readily with a notched trowel, making it practical for filling stone holes, repairing chipped stone edges, and bonding tile to masonry. It cures to a highly rigid finish with high shock resistance and chemical resistance, protecting structural bonds on stone, bricks, and concrete from impact and exposure.

Numbers that matter

  • 120 MPa compressive strength (ASTM D695-23): Provides exceptional structural load-bearing capacity, producing permanent bonds that are stronger than concrete.
  • >3 MPa concrete bond strength (ASTM D4541): Ensures the epoxy bond strength exceeds the cohesive strength of the concrete substrate.
  • 30-minute work time (at 25°C): Gives the installer a precise, workable window to align large stone slabs, biscuit joints, and complex mitres.
  • 24-hour full cure (at 25°C): Reaches structural service strength within 24 hours at standard temperatures (extends to 48 hours at 15°C; speeds up to 12 hours at 35°C).
  • 2 Part A to 1 Part B mix ratio: A straightforward volumetric mix that must be followed precisely to prevent uncured areas, loss of strength, or yellowing.

Where to use it

Megapoxy 63 is suitable for bonding, filling, and repairing across a range of heavy building materials:

  • Natural stone and porcelain: Ideal for mitre joints, laminating slabs, pin fixing holes, and repairing surface voids or chipped edges.
  • Concrete and masonry: For high-strength structural bonding of tiles, pavers, and structural stone elements.
  • Bricks and ceramics: Suitable for thin-glue-line bonding where high tensile and flexural strengths are required.

Limitations

  • Coated surfaces: Do not bond directly to painted or coated surfaces. All existing coatings must be removed to prevent inferior bond strengths.
  • Temperature floor: Do not apply Megapoxy 63 if the temperature is below 10°C, as the chemical cure will be severely retarded.
  • Mixing precision: Inaccurate volumetric measurement or incomplete mixing of Part A and Part B will reduce physical properties, prevent curing, and cause discolouration.

Surface preparation and clean-up

For natural stone and porcelain, lightly abrade the bonding areas. Cross hatching or biscuiting smooth surfaces will improve mechanical adhesion. Ensure all surfaces and pin fixing holes are completely clean, dry, and dust-free.

For concrete substrates, remove all grease, oil, and laitance. Laitance must be removed via mechanical abrasion or acid etching before applying the adhesive.

Clean all tools and mixing equipment immediately after use with Megapoxy Thinners. Wear disposable rubber gloves during mixing and application to maintain proper industrial hygiene.

What is Megapoxy 63 best suited to?
Natural-stone mitres, laminating, gap filling and other high-strength bonds where a translucent adhesive line is useful.

Can it be used vertically or overhead?
Yes. Its gel consistency is designed for vertical, angled and overhead work.

How long is the working time?
About 30 minutes at 25°C.

Can it be coloured?
Yes. The manufacturer states that it can be coloured with Megapoxy pigments.

Translucent high-strength epoxy adhesive gel for natural stone, mitre joints, laminating and precision bonding. Non-sag consistency suits vertical, angled and overhead work. Can be coloured with Megapoxy pigments. Work time is about 30 minutes and minimum cure about 24 hours at 25°C. Compressive strength is 120MPa to ASTM D695-23.
Lightly abrade smooth stone, porcelain or ceramic bond faces and remove all dust. Prepare concrete by removing grease, oil and laitance. Measure and mix Part A and Part B in the manufacturer-specified ratio until streak-free. Apply by trowel, caulking gun or another suitable placement method. Use within the approximately 30-minute work time. Allow about 24 hours minimum cure at 25°C before demanding service.
Do not apply below 10°C. Do not bond directly to painted or coated surfaces. Prepare stone, porcelain and concrete so the bond faces are clean, sound and dust-free. Maintain the specified component ratio and mix until completely uniform. Poor mixing can reduce strength, prevent cure or cause discolouration.
  • Natural stone and engineered stone.
  • Porcelain and ceramics.
  • Concrete and masonry.
  • Stone mitre joints and laminating details.
  • Compatible bonding and gap-filling applications requiring a translucent adhesive.
