It’s a two-part nano-tech polymer engineered to fill and beautify tile gaps, curing into a rock-solid, glossy, and permanently mould-resistant joint that looks like porcelain.
Traditional grouts often discolour, stain, and harbour mould, especially in wet areas. MC-228 was formulated with German nano-tech polymer technology to eliminate these common failures. It mixes inside the nozzle, creating a robust, zero-VOC, solid that's impervious to water and mildew. This means permanent, low-maintenance, and aesthetically consistent tile joints, particularly in bathrooms, kitchens, and other humid environments where long-term performance and appearance matter.
MC-228 cures to a Shore D Hardness above 50. This means it forms a rigid, durable bond, unlike flexible sealants. With 100% non-volatile content and zero VOC, what you apply stays in the gap, and it does so without off-gassing harmful compounds. It delivers a full-bodied, dense fill that won't shrink, ensuring a stable and long-lasting joint without callbacks for settling or cracking.
Application is straightforward, provided you prepare correctly. Work within an application temperature range of 15°C to 45°C. The dual components mix automatically as you extrude, but always gun out the first 30cm to 40cm into waste to ensure a uniform blend. Use masking tape to define your joint edges, then fill the gap with the nozzle tip smaller than the gap width. Tool with a stainless steel stick, then remove the tape within 30 minutes, before it sets. MC-228 begins to set in 3 to 5 hours, achieving full cure within 24 hours. Clean wet material with Adheseal Methylated Spirits 95% General Purpose Solvent; dry material requires mechanical removal.

Clean the tile gaps thoroughly to remove any dust, debris, or moisture. Ensure the surfaces are dry before proceeding. Mask adjacent tile edges with painter's tape to maintain clean lines and avoid overspill.
Insert the MC-228 cartridge into a professional-grade caulking gun. Ensure the mixing nozzle is securely attached. Before application, gun out the first 30–40cm of sealant to ensure a uniform mix of resin and hardener.
Position the nozzle tip slightly smaller than the tile gap width. Apply a steady bead along the joint, filling it flush. Use a stainless steel tooling stick to smooth the surface and ensure even compression into the joint.
Remove masking tape after 30 minutes or before the sealant begins to skin. Allow the sealant to sit undisturbed for 3–5 hours. Full cure is achieved after 24 hours at 25°C.

Wear protective gloves and eye/face protection. A properly fitted, particular filter respirator should be used if a risk assessment indicates it is necessary for exposure to vapours or dusts.

Store in cool, dry conditions between 5°C and 35°C. Keep containers tightly closed/sealed until ready for use, away from heat, sparks, and open flame. Unused product is hazardous waste; dispose of contents and container in accordance with local, regional, national, or international regulations.

Surface prep: Clean the gap thoroughly. Ensure surfaces are dry, free from dust, grease, loose material, and any existing sealant or grout residues. Masking tape should be applied to the edges of the gap before application.
