Square Bermuda Megaflex™ 100x100mm Floor Waste is a high-performance drainage solution engineered for tiled wet areas in acoustic-sensitive multi-residential developments. The system integrates solid brass construction with a flexible ABS Megaflex™ base to ensure secure membrane termination and mitigate the risk of waterproofing failure at the collar.
Featuring built-in sound dampeners to reduce structure-borne noise and a tested 50L/min flow rate at a 1:80 fall, this unit helps strict AS3740 compliance while preventing water ponding in high-usage environments.
This floor waste system supports 50mm, 80mm, and 100mm outlet sizes. This range accommodates various plumbing configurations for residential and commercial projects.
The unit is tested to deliver a flow rate of 50 litres per minute. This performance is achieved at a 5mm head with a 1:80 fall to the waste, suitable for high-usage wet areas.
Yes, it includes sound dampening components as standard. This feature supports acoustic control in multi-storey buildings, contributing to compliance and occupant comfort.
Yes, the protective installation cover must be removed prior to project handover. Its purpose is to shield the grate from debris during tiling and grouting.
No, this product is not suitable for vinyl or flexible sheet flooring installations. It is designed for tiled or rigid flooring systems.
| Application | Key benefit | Primary trades |
|---|---|---|
| Tiled bathroom or ensuite | Delivers 50 L/min drainage, preventing ponding in common wet areas. | Tilers, Plumbers |
| Multi-residential wet areas | Includes sound dampeners as standard, meeting acoustic requirements for multi-storey living. | Builders, Developers |
| High-end commercial amenities | Offers multiple finish options (Chrome, Brushed Nickel, Matt Black, Brushed Gold) for design integration. | Architects, Fitout Contractors |
| Screeded shower bases | ABS Megaflex™ base integrates directly with waterproofing membranes and screed systems. | Waterproofers, Tilers |
Mark the 100x100mm floor waste location during plumbing rough-in. Confirm required outlet size (50, 80, or 100mm) and position for proper fall.
Core drill prior to membrane or screed. Allow sufficient space around pipe for Megaflex™ base movement.
Box out joist cavity to recess the Megaflex™ base into the floor zone.
Insert the ABS Megaflex™ base into the outlet. Integrate membrane system per AS3740 standards, ensuring a continuous seal between the flange and floor membrane.
Adhere to Megaflex™ flange using primer and compatible bond-breaker tape.
Extend membrane 50mm past flange and allow full cure before screed.
Tile flush with the top edge of the grate frame. Remove the protective cover only after grouting and cleaning are complete.
This product is a fabricated component and does not present chemical hazards. Standard site safety practices should be observed during handling and installation.
Wear general-purpose work gloves during installation to protect the decorative finish of the grate from oils or scratches.
Store in original packaging in a dry area to protect the finish. Dispose of packaging and any unused components according to local waste regulations.
Proper substrate preparation is critical for secure installation and long-term performance of any floor waste system.
Surface prep: Ensure the subfloor is structurally sound, clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, or contaminants. A minimum 1:80 fall towards the waste is required for effective drainage. Integrate the ABS Megaflex™ base flush with the waterproofing membrane and screed.
Primer: Not required for the floor waste itself. Follow manufacturer's recommendations for any associated waterproofing membranes or tile adhesives.
Surface prep: The subfloor must be stable, clean, and dry. Ensure appropriate waterproofing and a minimum 1:80 fall to the waste. Account for the thickness of the stone and adhesive when setting the waste level.
Primer: Not required for the floor waste itself. Consult stone adhesive manufacturer for specific priming requirements.
Surface prep: Concrete must be fully cured, clean, and free from any curing compounds, release agents, or laitance. Grind or shot blast if necessary to achieve a sound profile. Incorporate a screed with a minimum 1:80 fall to the waste, and apply an appropriate waterproofing system.
Primer: Not required for the floor waste itself. Prime concrete as per waterproofing or screed system specifications.
