SA Sanitary Silicone Sealant is a one-part, 100% neutral-cure oxime silicone with added anti-fungicide for bathrooms, shower screens, kitchens, vanities and other humid wet areas. It resists mould and mildew growth in prolonged hot and humid conditions while curing to form a flexible, weather-resistant seal.
Its broad adhesion makes SA Sanitary useful beyond tiled bathroom joints. It can also be used for compatible glazing and weatherproofing work across glass, ceramics, aluminium, masonry, stone, concrete, metals and many plastics.
SA Sanitary is designed for the joints around shower screens, vanities, sinks, sanitary fittings, tiled surfaces and other wet-area interfaces where moisture and humidity are persistent. Neutral-cure chemistry makes it suitable around compatible metals and mixed construction materials without the corrosion concerns associated with acid-cure silicones.
SA Sanitary adheres to glass, ceramics, aluminium, masonry, stone, concrete, most metals and many plastics. Variable plastics, coated surfaces and stain-sensitive materials should be compatibility tested before full application.
Surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dirt, grease, oil, rust, water and old sealant. Joint width and depth should be no less than 4 mm. Maximum joint width is 25 mm, with joint depth generally controlled to approximately half the width and a maximum depth of 10 mm. Use suitable closed-cell polyethylene backing material where required.
Apply with a sealant gun and tool promptly before the surface skins. Remove masking tape while the silicone is still wet.

How does SA Sanitary Silicone resist mould?
The formulation contains fungicide to inhibit mould and mildew growth in humid wet areas.
Can it be painted?
No. Paint does not adhere reliably to cured silicone.
How long does it take to cure?
Skin time is about 5 to 10 minutes, and a 10mm-deep bead typically cures in about 5 to 7 days at 25°C and 50% relative humidity.
Can it be used on polycarbonate?
No. Polycarbonate is excluded.
