Everbond Melamine PVA Adhesive

For bonding melamine faced board and laminates in cabinet making and furniture construction, Everbond Melamine PVA Adhesive provides the high-solids adhesion required to join non-porous melamine surfaces to timber substrates without failing.

How it works

Everbond Melamine PVA Adhesive is a high-solids PVA/EVA-based adhesive that applies white and dries clear. It is formulated to bond difficult, non-porous melamine faces and laminates to wood-based materials. The formulation requires an exact mechanical fit between the mating surfaces; gaps between substrates will extend drying times and significantly reduce the final strength of the bond.

Numbers that matter

• 150 g/m² coverage rate: Provides the baseline material estimation for application planning.
• ~3 minute open time: The narrow window available to assemble and align joints before the adhesive skin forms.
• 2 to 4 hours clamp time: Required press duration under standard conditions (20°C and 65% Relative Humidity) to achieve initial handling strength.
• 24 to 48 hours full cure: The time required under standard conditions to achieve maximum bond strength.

Installation limits

Surfaces must be clean and free from oil, dust, and other contaminants. Apply the adhesive evenly to one surface using a squeeze bottle or brush. The parts must be joined within the 3-minute open time and clamped or pressed until sufficient initial bond strength is achieved. For optimal bonding, timber moisture content should be between 8% and 10%, with ambient relative humidity between 60% and 70%.

Clean up wet adhesive and tools immediately with warm soapy water. Once dried, the adhesive cannot be dissolved and must be removed mechanically.

Limitations

• Non-structural only: This is a non-structural adhesive and must not be used for structural load-bearing applications.
• Temperature minimum: Do not apply when substrate or ambient temperatures are below 10°C.
• Storage limits: Store between 5°C and 40°C out of direct sunlight. Do not allow the product to freeze.
