Mapeband Easy is a flexible waterproofing reinforcement tape made with a rubber core between non-woven fabric layers. It helps a compatible Mapei liquid membrane remain continuous across corners and junctions, where a flat coating alone can be vulnerable to movement and detailing errors.
Built for the difficult parts of waterproofing
In a shower recess, floor-to-wall junctions and internal corners need more care than broad flat surfaces. Mapeband Easy is embedded into the approved membrane system at these transitions, giving the installer a purpose-made flexible detail. The same principle matters at suitable balcony and terrace junctions, where the membrane must follow changes in direction without losing continuity.
What to buy alongside it
This is not a standalone waterproof barrier: it works as part of an approved Mapei membrane build-up, with correct overlaps, coverage and edge sealing. Select the compatible membrane and joint detailing products for the project rather than treating any reinforcing tape as interchangeable.
Before you start
Embed fully in the specified wet membrane, eliminate trapped air and follow system-specific laps and cure times. Expansion joints or substantial movement may need a different designed joint system.
