Mapei Keracolor GG is a polymer-modified cementitious grout developed for tile and masonry finishes with wider joints. Its specified 4–15 mm joint range makes it an appropriate choice for rustic ceramic tiles, terracotta, facebrick and suitable stone, where a fine-joint grout may not be the best match for the installation.
Wide joints are often an intentional part of the look of a terracotta floor, textured wall or exposed-brick feature. Keracolor GG helps create a consistent, durable joint between those materials without trying to stretch a fine-textured grout beyond its intended gap width. It is suitable for compatible internal and external wall and floor installations.
Where Keracolor GG makes sense
-
Terracotta and rustic floors: Fill the wider, visible joints associated with traditional or irregular-format tiles.
-
Facebrick and decorative wall finishes: Create a cohesive cementitious joint on approved brick and tile surfaces.
-
Exterior tiling: Use on suitable outdoor tile and stone installations where the substrate, weather exposure and curing programme meet the system requirements.
Which Mapei grout should you choose?
Choose Keracolor GG where the specified joint is 4–15 mm wide. For finer joints up to 6 mm, Keracolor FF provides a fine-grained alternative. If fast setting and early return to service are priorities, compare Ultracolor Plus; for a non-absorbent epoxy finish in demanding conditions, consider Kerapoxy Easy Design.
Getting a consistent finish
Measure mixing water accurately and work within the grout's usable life. Clean at the prescribed stage, checking porous or textured tile faces for staining and residue first. Grout is not a movement-joint sealant or a waterproofing membrane; use the correct flexible joint treatment and full waterproofing system where required.
