Lauxes Grates Slimline Tile Insert 21 – Midnight is a 100mm wide, 21mm deep anodised aluminium tile-insert linear drain designed to create a discreet tiled finish in indoor and outdoor wet areas. It accepts tiles up to 10mm thick and uses 72mm or 80mm waste outlets.

Lauxes manufactures STI21 in 3000mm and 5600mm full lengths for Midnight. Adheseal currently offers 1000mm and 3000mm sell lengths, with the grate cuttable on site to suit the finished installation and the waste outlet positioned to suit the plumbing layout.

How To Apply  
Use STI 21 for indoor or outdoor tiled drainage where a 21mm-deep tile-insert profile is required. Form the recess with a template 10 to 20mm wider than the grate, cut the channel to length, drill the outlet position to align with the waste pipe and fit the outlet and end caps with neutral-cure silicone. Install the grate level as the final flooring step, then place the tiled insert.
Limitations and Safety Info  
Do not use tile thicker than 10mm, and do not use 40mm or 50mm waste outlets with STI 21; Lauxes specifies 72mm and 80mm outlets. The grate does not form part of the waterproofing system and must not contact wet cement or screed. Install after waterproofing, tiling and grouting with neutral-cure silicone.
Suitable Substrates  
Tiled floor systems over concrete or screed with a separate waterproofing membrane; fibre-cement sheet floor systems; waterproofing foam-board systems. The grate sits in the prepared recess and is fixed with neutral-cure silicone.
