When the slab is out of spec, but the project schedule isn't forgiving, you need a levelling compound that delivers on thickness and speed. UC Leveller takes significant variations, from 3 mm up to a robust 70 mm, in a single application. This means getting to the finished floor faster, without callbacks from cracking or shrinkage. It sets up rapidly for foot traffic in just 12 hours, keeping your project moving.
Why this product exists
UC Leveller is engineered for demanding commercial and industrial floor preparation. It solves the challenge of creating exceptionally smooth, durable, and thick underlayments that can withstand heavy loads and traffic. Formulated with special fast-setting cements and graded silica sand, this compound delivers superior compressive and flexural strength, making it ideal for rapid turnaround projects where standard levelling compounds would fail under the load or thickness requirements.
The numbers that matter
This leveller handles significant floor imperfections, applying from 3 mm up to 70 mm thick in a single coat without significant shrinkage or cracking. This broad application window eliminates the need for multiple passes on deeply uneven surfaces. After 28 days, it achieves a high compressive strength of 30 N/mm² and a flexural strength of 8.5 N/mm². These strength metrics are critical for supporting heavy static and dynamic loads, including wheeled traffic, over its service life.
The compound cures rapidly, allowing for light foot traffic after 12 hours and flooring installation in just 24 hours. This fast track to finish significantly reduces project downtime, crucial for high-turnover commercial spaces.
What it's like to use
UC Leveller mixes into a fluid, easy-to-work compound. It can be applied with a large metal trowel or, for maximum productivity on larger areas, with an automatic pressure pump. For applications exceeding 40 mm, an addition of 30% of 3-5 mm aggregate is recommended to maintain stability. The mixed batch has a working time of 20 to 30 minutes at 23ºC. Tools and hands clean easily with water while the product is still wet.
When applying a second coat, do so as soon as the first can be walked on (approximately 3 hours). If more than 24 hours pass between coats, prime the surface with Eco Prim T Plus, diluted 1 part primer to 2 parts water, to ensure proper adhesion.
Where this product excels
-
Commercial and industrial floors: Creates a robust, smooth base for heavy loads and continuous traffic in warehouses, retail stores, or production facilities.
-
Under-floor heating installations: Provides a level substrate that efficiently transfers heat without compromising the system's integrity.
-
Renovations over existing hard finishes: Smooths concrete, cement screeds, ceramic tiles, terrazzo, natural stone, and magnesite floors, preparing them for new floor coverings.
How it fits in a real system
UC Leveller typically functions as a mid-layer in a floor finishing system, providing the necessary level and strength. Substrates must be prepared by mechanical removal of all contaminants and then primed. Porous substrates require Eco Prim T Plus, diluted 1 part primer to 2 parts water, to control absorption and prevent pinholes. Non-porous surfaces like existing tiles or natural stone need either undiluted Eco Prim T Plus or Eco Prim Grip Plus for optimal bond.
While ceramic tiles, natural stone, and floating timber can be installed directly after 24 hours, installing soft floor coverings like timber, vinyl, or rubber requires an additional minimum 3 mm coat of Ultraplan or Ultraplan Eco over the cured UC Leveller. This ensures the required surface finish for these specific floor types.
Choose this when
- When creating a thick, durable underlayment from 3 mm to 70 mm is required for heavy traffic areas.
- When rapid hardening and quick project turnaround times are critical.
- When preparing floors in commercial or industrial settings that will endure heavy static and dynamic loads.
- When pump application is desired for large areas to increase productivity.
Don't use this when
-
Not for: External applications, internal wet areas, or over substrates subject to rising damp.
-
Not for: Thicknesses less than 3 mm.
-
Not for: Levelling over timber substrates. Instead, use Ultraplan Renovation or Nivorapid mixed with Latex Plus.
-
Not for: Mixing with additional water or other cementitious products once setting has begun.
UC Leveller complies with EN 13813 and is classified as CT-C25-F7. This classification confirms its cement-based (C) composition, its compressive strength (C25), and its flexural strength (F7), ensuring it meets the performance standards required for screed materials under demanding conditions.
