Selsil Ninja MDF is a two-component cyanoacrylate adhesive system engineered for high-strength bonding of vertical timber and MDF assemblies. This non-sag formula utilizes a solvent-based activator to achieve a permanent bond in under 10 seconds, effectively preventing alignment failure in miter joints and crown moulding.
By eliminating the need for mechanical fasteners that risk splitting delicate MDF surfaces, it ensures clean, professional finishes in custom cabinetry and high-speed shop production.
Selsil Ninja MDF cures within 3 to 5 seconds when both components are correctly applied. The aerosol activator speeds up polymerisation, making it ideal for jobs requiring instant bonding—especially on vertical or delicate joinery surfaces.
Yes, Selsil Ninja MDF performs well on both absorbent and non-absorbent substrates such as PVC, laminate, and lacquered surfaces. Ensure the surface is clean and dry, and always apply the activator to one side before bonding.
Absolutely. The non-sag adhesive formulation is ideal for vertical or overhead bonds. It grips quickly and won’t run, helping installers position components accurately without bracing or slipping during cure time.
Shelf life is 12 months when stored between +5°C and +25°C in a cool, dry environment. Avoid freezing, direct sunlight, or storage above 50°C. Always keep containers sealed when not in use.
No clamping is usually required. The bond activates within seconds under light hand pressure (2–3 seconds). For heavier pieces, brief support may help maintain alignment, but the adhesive itself cures extremely fast.
Always wear gloves and eye protection. Use the product in well-ventilated areas and avoid direct contact with skin or eyes. Do not inhale vapour, and never spray the activator onto hot surfaces or near open flame.
| Application / Use Case | Key Benefit | Primary Trades |
|---|---|---|
| Joining MDF panels in cabinetry | Fast bonding eliminates the need for clamping or screws | Cabinetmakers, Joiners |
| Fixing skirting boards and architraves | Non-sag adhesive allows accurate vertical positioning | Builders, Carpenters |
| Edge repairs on chipped panels | Clean, permanent repairs with no swelling or expansion | Remedial Specialists, Shopfitters |
| Bonding timber trims to PVC or lacquered surfaces | Strong bond to non-absorbent materials using included activator | Installers, Fitout Contractors |
| On-site joinery assembly or adjustment | Instant adhesion with no waiting for curing—saves time on site | All Trades |
Ensure both bonding surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, oil, or loose particles. This step is essential to achieve optimal bonding strength.
Brush or blow off dust, then wipe with a dry cloth. Light sanding is optional but may improve grip.
Avoid solvents. Clean using a dry lint-free cloth. Ensure no peeling coatings are present.
Spray the Selsil Activator onto one of the surfaces to be joined. Use a light, even coat to accelerate the adhesive's curing process.
Hold the can upright ~15cm from the surface and apply a quick, uniform spray.
Apply a small amount of the cyanoacrylate adhesive to the opposite surface (not the one with activator). A thin film is sufficient for strong bonding.
Use the applicator nozzle to guide the bead along the join line. Avoid pooling or excess adhesive.
Bring both surfaces together with accurate alignment. Press firmly for 2–3 seconds to activate the bond. No clamping is typically needed.
Apply steady hand pressure on the joint line. Keep stable and aligned for 3–5 seconds.
Wear nitrile gloves and safety glasses when applying. Avoid direct skin and eye contact. Long sleeves are recommended to prevent accidental spills on skin.
Use in well-ventilated areas. Do not inhale vapour. Avoid confined spaces or enclosed environments without adequate airflow.
Keep away from heat sources, sparks, and open flames. The aerosol activator is flammable—do not puncture or incinerate. Store in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and temperatures above 50°C.
Seek medical attention immediately in all cases of serious exposure.
Ensure surface is dry, dust-free, and free from loose fibres. Light sanding may improve contact. Clean with a dry cloth prior to bonding.
Selsil Ninja MDF adheres strongly to raw MDF without primers.
Brush off all loose particles. Clean thoroughly and ensure surface is dry. Avoid oily residues.
Good adhesion on untreated particleboard when dry and clean.
Wipe with a clean dry cloth. Avoid solvents. Ensure surface is smooth and free from flaking paint or polish.
Use Selsil Activator for improved curing on glossy or coated surfaces.
Selsil Activator (included)Wipe surface dry and ensure it is clean of any oils or manufacturing residues. Do not abrade unless required for mechanical keying.
Use activator to improve bond on non-absorbent plastic surfaces.
Selsil ActivatorClean off all sawdust and debris. Ensure surfaces are dry and well-fitting. Sanding is optional but may improve bond surface area.
Selsil Ninja MDF bonds strongly to most untreated woods.
