Application Guide:

  1. Surface Preparation: Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from contaminants. Use white spirits or a lint-free cloth for cleaning. Avoid soap or detergent. For plastics, consult Sealants Australasia for the appropriate solvent.
  2. Joint Design: Joint width and depth should be at least 4mm. Maximum joint width should not exceed 25mm. Joint depths should be half the width, with a maximum depth of 10mm.
  3. Backing Rod: Use a polyethylene closed-cell foam rod for joints deeper than 10mm. Use polyethylene tape as a bond breaker for shallow joints.
  4. Application: Cut the nozzle at a 45-degree angle and apply sealant with a sealant gun. Tool within 5 minutes.
  5. Clean Up: Uncured sealant can be cleaned with mineral turpentine.
  6. Masking Tape: Use masking tape for neat edges and remove before the sealant skins over.

Limitations:

  • Not recommended for concrete, marble, galvanised steel, lead surfaces, or mirror fixing without manufacturer's approval.
  • Not suitable for submerged joints or aquarium manufacturing.
  • Not paintable.
  • May not be suitable for some laminated glass or rubber products.
