Megapoxy H is a low viscosity, 100% solids, solvent-free hydrophilic epoxy resin designed for use in repairs of structures in contact with potable water. Complying with AS/NZS 4020:2018 for use with drinking water, Megapoxy H offers excellent resistance to hydrogen sulphide in sewage systems and can be used for various repairs, including wet-to-dry concrete adhesive applications, underwater repairs, and floor repairs.

Key Features

  • VOC free
  • Hydrophilic
  • Low viscosity for easy application
  • High strength permanent bonds
  • Excellent tensile and compressive strengths
  • Suitable for potable water applications
  • Excellent chemical resistance

Suitable Substrates

  • Concrete
  • Steel
  • Old to new concrete bonding

Uses

  • New to old concrete bonding
  • Concrete crack repair
  • Concrete repairs
  • Steel anchoring
  • Coating and floor repairs
  • Low pressure injection
  • Epoxy mortars

Benefits

  • Ensures durable and long-lasting repairs
  • Complies with standards for potable water use
  • Provides superior adhesion for a variety of substrates
  • Resistant to chemical exposure, including hydrogen sulphide
  • Effective in both wet and dry conditions

Application Guide

  1. Prepare surfaces by cleaning and removing any grease, oil, or coatings. Use mechanical abrasion or acid etching for concrete surfaces, and grit blasting or abrasion for metals.
  2. Mix Part A and Part B in a 3:1 ratio thoroughly to ensure proper curing and physical properties.
  3. Apply the mixed resin to the prepared surfaces, ensuring good coverage and bonding.
  4. For crack repairs, use appropriate techniques such as low-pressure injection or capillary action.
  5. Allow the adhesive to cure for the recommended time based on the ambient temperature (minimum 12 to 48 hours).
  6. Clean tools and equipment with Megapoxy Thinners immediately after use.

Limitations

  • Ensure accurate mixing to avoid incomplete curing or discoloration over time.
  • Not recommended for use on coated surfaces unless coatings are removed.
  • Not suitable for vertical and overhead rendering; use Megapoxy HT instead.
