Description  

Adheseal Toluene Solvent is a strong industrial solvent for professional cleaning of compatible adhesive residues and preparation of solvent-resistant tools and surfaces. It can help remove uncured or solvent-softenable contact adhesive and polyurethane residues where the material's cleaning instructions allow toluene.

Choose toluene only when a solvent-compatible cleaning procedure calls for it. It is considerably more aggressive than a routine wipe with IPA Cleaner and is not a general cleaner for painted joinery, plastic components or sensitive finishes.

Typical controlled uses

  • Contact-adhesive workshop clean-up: removing compatible uncured overspray and residue from solvent-resistant equipment.
  • Polyurethane application tools: cleaning suitable equipment before adhesive or sealant has fully cured, when specified by the product system.
  • Industrial substrate preparation: solvent wiping resistant materials within an approved professional process.

Compatibility and safety

Test on an inconspicuous area. Do not assume cured polyurethane can be dissolved: fully cured materials may require mechanical removal. Toluene can attack plastics, coatings and other sensitive substrates.

Danger: highly flammable liquid and vapour, and harmful to health through inhalation or repeated exposure. Use only with appropriate engineering controls, ventilation and protective equipment, away from sparks and ignition. The SDS identifies serious longer-term health risks; this product is not suitable for casual household cleaning. Collect residues and dispose of them according to the SDS and site procedures.

Uses & Benefits  
High-solvency cleaner for stubborn uncured adhesive, polyurethane sealant and similar residues on compatible hard surfaces. Useful for cleaning and degreasing trade tools and equipment where a strong aromatic solvent is appropriate. Fast evaporation supports rapid clean-up before the next process step.
How To Apply  
Apply a small amount to a suitable lint-free cloth or cleaning tool. Work the uncured compatible residue until it softens and transfers away from the surface. Use fresh cloth faces to avoid spreading dissolved adhesive back across the substrate. Allow the cleaned surface to dry completely before subsequent bonding, sealing or coating. Close the container promptly after use.
