SA Sealproof is a high-performance, one-part, low modulus alkoxy silicone sealant engineered for exceptional weatherproofing in a wide range of applications. Its advanced formulation resists damage from sunlight, UV radiation, rain, snow, and extreme temperatures, ensuring long-term performance and durability. SA Sealproof offers excellent primerless adhesion to various substrates, including acrylic, polycarbonate, and other plastics, making it a versatile choice for both indoor and outdoor projects.

Key Features

  • One-part, ready-to-use formula
  • Low modulus for high joint movement (±50%)
  • Outstanding weatherability and UV resistance
  • Excellent primerless adhesion to many substrates
  • 5 Star VOC compliant, meeting stringent environmental standards

Suitable Substrates

  • Laminated glass
  • Insulating glass units
  • Acrylic
  • Polycarbonate
  • Many other plastics
  • Metals (some may require primer)
  • Masonry
  • Concrete (primer recommended)
  • Coated surfaces
  • Wood

Uses

  • Glazing applications (in-shop and field glazing of curtain wall modules)
  • Sealing joints in metal, masonry, concrete, coated surfaces, plastics, and wood assemblies
  • Weatherproofing butt joints and lap shear joints subject to movement
  • Creating primary or secondary seals against water, air, and dust penetration in glazing and curtain-wall assemblies

Benefits

  • Provides a long-lasting, durable seal that withstands harsh weather conditions
  • Accommodates high joint movement without compromising seal integrity
  • Excellent adhesion to various substrates, often without the need for primer
  • Resists UV degradation, maintaining its properties over time
  • Easy to apply and tool
  • Environmentally friendly with low VOC emissions

Application Guide

  1. Prepare surfaces by ensuring they are clean, dry, and free of contaminants.
  2. Cut the nozzle at a 45-degree angle to achieve the desired bead width.
  3. Apply sealant using a sealant gun, maintaining even pressure and consistent bead size.
  4. Tool the sealant within 20-30 minutes to ensure proper adhesion and a smooth finish.
  5. If needed, clean up uncured sealant with mineral turpentine.

Limitations

  • Not recommended for continuous water immersion.
  • Not suitable for porous surfaces like marble or limestone.
  • Avoid use in totally confined spaces as sealant requires atmospheric moisture to cure.
  • Cannot be painted over.
