SA Sealproof Silicone Sealant is a versatile one-part, low modulus alkoxy silicone sealant, ideal for various weatherproofing applications. It withstands normal weathering conditions, including sunlight, UV radiation, rain, and snow, while retaining its exceptional properties even after years of exposure. The sealant is compatible with laminated glass, insulating glass units, acrylic, polycarbonate, and many other plastic substrates.

Sealproof Glazing Applications:
SA Sealproof is specially designed for glazing applications, including in-shop and field glazing of curtain wall modules, where glass lights are attached to the metal framing system using structural sealant. It is also suitable for sealing assemblies of metals, masonry, concrete, coated surfaces, plastics, wood, and other common construction materials. SA Sealproof's low-modulus characteristic reduces strain on the substrate surface, enabling excellent recovery from extension and compression cycling. It can be factory or field applied to glass, metal, and plastics in glazing and curtain-wall assemblies to produce a primary or secondary seal against water, air, and dust penetration.
Adhesion Characteristics:
SA Sealproof Silicone Sealant demonstrates exceptional adhesion performance on various surfaces, as shown in the table below. The sealant forms strong bonds with materials such as stainless steel, aluminum, glass, acrylic, polycarbonate, PVC sheet, and more. After 21 days of exposure to 23°C (75°F) and 50% relative humidity, followed by 7 days of water immersion, the adhesive bonds are tested in a 180 peel-back test with specific results in pounds force per inch of peel strength and percent cohesive failure.
Surface Preparation:
To ensure optimal performance, surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from dirt, grease, oil, rust, and water. When required, use a primer for surface preparation. White spirits or mechanical cleaning with a lint-free cloth can be used for surface cleaning. Avoid using soap or detergent. For plastics, contact Sealants Australasia for a recommended cleaning solvent. In remedial work, it is essential to remove any existing sealant before applying SA Sealproof.

Storage/Shelf Life:
