Everflex HVUV is a high-viscosity, UV-stable Class III elastomeric waterproofing membrane for roofs, balconies, terraces and under-pedestal deck systems. It forms a seamless, flexible barrier that can remain exposed to weather when applied within the specified system.
The practical reason to choose HVUV over Everflex WPUV is its higher-viscosity application profile. Both products share the published WPUV/HVUV membrane system's Class III classification, core substrate requirements and UV-exposed positioning; HVUV should not be represented as a different traffic rating or higher waterproofing class simply because it is thicker to apply.
Prepare a clean, dry, sound surface. Select the correct primer and form the specified fillets, bond breakers, reinforcement and penetration details. Apply successive coats to the required film build, checking thickness rather than relying on appearance. Allow curing before service or overcoating.
Although HVUV resists UV exposure, routine pedestrian or vehicle traffic is not its intended exposed service; the published system permits maintenance access. Do not apply over standing moisture, rising damp or negative hydrostatic pressure. For permanently covered shower and bathroom installations, Aqua-Ban and WPM are more targeted choices.
What is the difference between HVUV and standard WPUV?
HVUV is the high-viscosity version for work where a thicker-bodied application is useful while retaining the UV-stable membrane system.
What dry film thickness is required?
At least 1.0mm internally and 1.3mm externally.
How long before tiling or finishing?
About 48 hours at 25°C and 50% relative humidity.
Can it be used over rising damp?
No. Negative hydrostatic pressure and rising damp are excluded.
