Application Guide

  1. Ensure sealant application requirements are met before installing the backing rod.
  2. Use the Backing Rod Insertion Tool to ensure the rod is positioned correctly in the joint.
  3. Take care not to damage the outer surface of the rod during installation.
  4. Fill the joint completely to avoid air entrapment, which can cause bubbles in the sealant.
  5. If the joint depth does not accommodate the backing rod, use a bond breaker tape.

Limitations

  • Avoid excessive longitudinal stretching during installation
  • Not suitable for use in hot-poured sealants above +70°C
  • Not recommended for use in swimming pool applications due to high chlorine levels
