  • Planter boxes and retaining walls.
  • Under-tile or wearing systems on rooftops, balconies, and podiums.
  • Waterproofing concrete shelves.
  • Concrete swimming pools, water features, and potable water storage.
  • Areas subject to 5 bar positive and 1.5 bar negative hydrostatic pressure.

Suitable Substrates

  • Cement-rendered masonry
  • Fibre cement sheeting
  • Concrete
  • Water-resistant plasterboard
  • Structural plywood

Benefits

  • Easy application by brush, roller, or trowel.
  • Applicable to damp surfaces.
  • High adhesion strength.
  • Versatile mixing ratio.
  • Good crack-bridging capabilities (up to 0.75mm in standard and low temperatures).
  • Suitable for light foot traffic.
  • Class One membrane.

Application Guide

  1. Surface Preparation:
    • Thoroughly clean the surface using methods like blast cleaning, high-pressure water jetting, wire brushing, or grinding to remove existing coatings, contaminants, and laitance.
    • Ensure the substrate is damp but not saturated before application.
    • Allow new concrete and render to cure for at least 28 days.
    • For optimal adhesion, apply by trowel for consistent coverage.
    • Treat and fill static cracks up to 2mm wide with GRIPSET SB.
    • Consult a professional for cracks over 2mm or those subject to movement.
  2. Priming:
    • Porous Substrates: Dampen the substrate before application.
    • Non-Porous Substrates: Mechanically abrade (sanding/grinding) and then dampen the surface.
  3. Mixing:
    • Add powder to water while mixing with a mechanical stirrer.
    • Adjust water ratio (3.0 - 4.2 litres per 15kg bag) for desired consistency.
  4. Application:
    • Apply two coats with a minimum wet film thickness of 1.5mm per coat.
    • Allow 4-6 hours of drying time between coats.
    • Ensure a final dry film thickness of 2-3mm.
    • Use a wet film gauge to ensure adequate coverage.

Limitations

  • Not suitable for heavy or continuous traffic.
  • Not to be applied over lightweight concrete.
  • Avoid application in temperatures below 5°C and above 35°C.
  • External applications covered with tiles or screed require a separation layer.
