Gripset 38FC is a high-performance, one-component, moisture-curing, construction-grade polyurethane sealant. It is designed to provide a durable, flexible seal in a wide range of building and construction applications. 38FC is paintable and offers excellent adhesion to most common building materials, making it a versatile choice for sealing joints and gaps.

Uses

Gripset 38FC is suitable for various applications, including:

  • Sealing joints in precast concrete panels
  • Sealing joints in concrete tilt slabs
  • Sealing perimeter joints around doors and windows
  • Sealing expansion and control joints in concrete and masonry
  • Sealing joints between different building materials (e.g., concrete to metal, concrete to wood)
  • General sealing and bonding applications in construction

Benefits

Gripset 38FC offers several advantages, including:

  • High elasticity and flexibility to accommodate movement in joints
  • Excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates
  • Paintable with most water-based and oil-based paints
  • Resistant to weathering, UV radiation, and ozone
  • Good chemical resistance
  • Easy to apply with standard caulking guns

Application Guide

  1. Prepare the joint by ensuring it is clean, dry, and free of dust, grease, or other contaminants. Remove any loose or unsound material.
  2. Mask the areas adjacent to the joint to ensure a neat finish.
  3. Cut the nozzle of the sealant cartridge at a 45-degree angle to the desired joint width.
  4. Apply the sealant into the joint using a caulking gun, ensuring it fills the joint completely.
  5. Tool the sealant within 10 minutes of application to ensure good contact with the substrate and a smooth finish. Use a sealant tooling agent or soapy water to prevent sticking.
  6. Remove the masking tape before the sealant skins over.
  7. Allow the sealant to cure fully according to the manufacturer's instructions. Curing time will vary depending on temperature and humidity.

Limitations

  • Not suitable for immersion in water or continuous water exposure.
  • Not recommended for use on bituminous surfaces or some plastics.
  • Should not be applied at temperatures below 5°C or above 40°C.

Additional Information

  • Gripset 38FC is available in various colours to match different substrates.
  • It is important to consult the manufacturer's safety data sheet (SDS) before using this product.
  • Store the sealant in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
