Pasco Aquastop Waterstop

Aquastop Waterstop is a flexible hydrophilic polymer rubber waterstop designed for sealing construction joints and precast panels. Its unique composition of tightly packed charged microscopic platelets attracts water molecules, causing the material to swell and create an impermeable barrier against water infiltration. This swelling action ensures a permanent pressure seal, even in high hydrostatic pressure conditions.

Uses

• Sealing vertical and horizontal non-moving construction joints.
• Sealing irregular surfaces and penetrations in concrete structures.
• Preventing water infiltration in underground structures, tunnels, basements, retaining walls, and more.
• Replacing conventional waterstops in construction joints.

Application Guide

1. Prepare surfaces by ensuring they are structurally sound, clean, dry, and free from contaminants.
2. Apply Aquastop adhesive to the concrete surface with a brush.
3. While the adhesive is still tacky (10-15 minutes), remove the release paper from the Aquastop and press it firmly onto the surface.
4. Pay close attention to the highest coil end on vertical sections.
5. Butt join the ends of Aquastop tightly to create a continuous seal.
6. For specific applications like penetrations, joints to PVC waterstops, pile caps & grade beams, and irregular surfaces, refer to the detailed instructions in the product data sheet.

Limitations

• Not suitable for use as an expansion joint sealant.
• In areas with severe groundwater chemicals or salts, consult with the manufacturer.
• Not self-adhering and requires the use of Aquastop adhesive.
• Standard Aquastop should not be used with contaminated groundwater (saltwater or organic).
