Sikaflex® Construction AP

Sikaflex® Construction AP is a one-component, moisture-curing, elastic joint sealant designed for movement and connection joints on porous substrates, as well as general sealing applications indoors and outdoors.

Application Guide

1. Prepare the substrate: Ensure it is clean, dry, sound, and free of contaminants. Priming is not typically required, but it is recommended for optimal adhesion in critical applications. Refer to the product data sheet for specific priming recommendations.
2. Insert a backing rod to the required depth.
3. Apply Sikaflex® Construction AP into the joint, ensuring full contact with the sides and avoiding air entrapment.
4. Tool the sealant firmly against the joint sides for adequate adhesion.
5. Use masking tape for clean lines and remove it within the skin time.
6. Smooth the joint surfaces with a compatible tooling agent like Sika® Tooling Agent N.

Limitations

• Not suitable for use on natural stone or bituminous substrates.
• Not recommended for sealing joints in and around swimming pools or for permanent water immersion.
• Should not be used on materials that may bleed oils, plasticizers, or solvents.
• Uncured sealant should not be exposed to alcohol-containing products.
