Duram Azcothane Reo Waterproofing Membrane - High Performance UV Resistant Solution

Duram Azcothane is a high-performance, water-based polyurethane dispersion fortified acrylic hybrid waterproofing membrane. It is specifically formulated to provide exceptional durability and UV resistance, making it suitable for demanding exposed, under tile, underground, and immersed waterproofing applications.

Azcothane meets the rigorous standards set by AS4858:2004 Wet Area Membranes, AS4654.1 2012 Waterproofing membranes for external above ground use, AS4654.2 2012 Exterior Resistance to ultraviolet Appendix A, and the 'Green Star' environmental criteria. This elastomeric membrane is designed for both internal and exposed external applications, curing to form a seamless, impervious, and odourless membrane that does not re-emulsify even when immersed in water. It does not stain grout or tiles and exhibits excellent chemical resistance, inhibiting the growth of mold and other biological organisms.

Azcothane Limitations

While Azcothane is highly versatile and suitable for various applications, it has some limitations:

• Not designed as a trafficable membrane, although infrequent maintenance foot-traffic is acceptable during the construction phase
• Not suitable for direct contact with high concentrations of chlorine
• Avoid direct application to wet surfaces as it may cause gassing and bubbling of the membrane
• Can be applied to slightly damp surfaces, ensuring the absence of surface water and prolonged dampness
• In trafficable areas, it is recommended to apply a protective coat of Duram Virotuff

Azcothane Coverage

The coverage rate of Azcothane may vary depending on surface type, condition, porosity, texture, and application technique. As a general guide:

• Minimum coverage rate: 1.7L/m² or 0.85L/m² per coat
• A 15 Lt pail covers approximately 18 m² for 1 coat at 0.5mm DFT
• For water-resistant non-tanking walls, minimum coverage is 0.85L/m² at 0.5mm DFT
• The dry film thickness on floors and tanking areas should be 1.0mm DFT, with each coat being 500 microns dry film (0.5mm DFT)

Azcothane Clean Up

To clean up spills, it is recommended to avoid spills if possible. For wet spills, use water and a cloth to clean non-porous surfaces. However, spills on porous surfaces may be difficult to clean. Carpets should not be cleaned off immediately but rather allowed to cure before shaving. Equipment should be cleaned immediately with water.

Azcothane Storage and Packaging

Azcothane should be stored in a cool, dry place away from heat and freezing conditions. It is not flammable. The product is available in 4 Lt and 15 Lt pails, with 15 liters equating to 16 kg. The shelf life is 12 months in an unopened container, and it is recommended to use the product within that period.
