Gripset Xpress SP- Rapid Set Primer

Gripset Xpress SP is a solvent-free primer specifically developed with adhesion-enhancing properties for non-porous, dense, and smooth substrates. It is designed for both wall and floor surfaces, providing high adhesion without the need for etching or solvents. This primer is ideally suited for the application of Gripset self-adhesive sheet and liquid membrane systems, enabling a strong bond to difficult substrates. It is also suitable for porous surfaces.

Gripset Xpress SP Substrates

Gripset Xpress SP can be used on the following substrates:

• Metals including galvanized iron, zincalume, aluminium, stainless steel, copper, brass treated steel, colourbond sheeting
• Precast and tilt-up concrete, glass reinforced concrete
• Hardwood and dense timber surfaces
• Existing ceramic tiles, vitrified tiles, and natural stone
• Brickwork (clay and concrete)
• Compressed cement sheeting, plasterboard surfaces
• James Hardie, Scyon, Secura, external/internal flooring
• Polymer mortars, synthetic mortars, smooth self-levelling compounds
• Marine plywood and timber sheet surfaces
• Glazed surfaces
• Rigid plastic surfaces
• General surfaces where absorbing primers are not suitable or where adhesion enhancement is required

Application and Coverage

• Stir the product well before use and apply it using a low nap roller or long bristle brush. Ensure even coverage on the surface being treated. Contact Gripset Technical Services for details on spray application.
• On smooth, non-porous surfaces such as metal, glass reinforced concrete, and glazed tiles, a minimum coverage of 1 litre per 12m² is required. Depending on the absorbency and nature of the surface, coverage of up to 1 litre per m² may be required. Coverage may vary due to the porosity of the substrate.

Storage Conditions

• Best stored at room temperature
• Avoid cold freezing conditions and off concrete floors
• Do not store in direct sunlight
• Shelf life: 24 months in an unopened container

Clean Up

• In water while wet
• Once dried, the product needs to be removed mechanically or by solvent
• On hands or skin while the product is wet, use soap and water
• Once cured, use solvent-free hand cleaners
