Gripset LS Applications

Gripset LS is suitable for commercial, industrial, and residential applications. It can be applied to various surfaces, including:

  • Concrete and masonry screeds
  • Fibre cement, compressed fibre cement, and cement sheeting products
  • Exterior grade plywood
  • Hebel panels
  • Failed roof coatings
  • Existing tiles and pavers (in a well-bonded state)

For further information on suitable surfaces and substrates, please contact the technical department of Gripset Industries for correct advice on surface preparation and suitability.

Waterproofing Uses

Gripset LS Roof Coat can be used for the following waterproofing applications:

  • Roof areas (used with a base membrane layer)
  • Walkways
  • Deck and balcony areas
  • Exposed roof surfaces for maintenance and access areas
  • General horizontal surfaces exposed to weather

Priming

Gripset LS membrane must be applied onto primed surfaces using the appropriate primer based on the surface type:

  • Xpress Primer H20 Plus - For concrete rooftop applications, green/damp concrete, screeds, and mineral surfaces containing residual moisture
  • Gripset GP primer for general porous vertical and horizontal building surfaces. Apply the primer using a brush or roller to the total surface area at a minimum coverage of 1 litre per 6m². Allow drying for 30 minutes or until the wet film dries to a clear transparent coating.
  • Gripset OP primer for non-porous, smooth, and dense surfaces. Apply the primer using a brush or roller to the total surface area at a minimum coverage of 1 litre per 12m². Allow drying for 1 hour.
  • Gripset 11Y slurry for asphalt/bitumen surfaces and existing coatings. Mix Gripset 11Y in equal volumes with Portland cement and fine wash sand to form a homogeneous slurry. Brush apply the slurry to the substrate at a coverage of 1 litre per 3m². Apply the membrane over the primer slurry while the primer is in a damp/wet state, i.e., "wet on wet" application. Check suitability over existing coatings with Gripset Technical Services before commencing.
  • Gripset P10 or E60 primer for surfaces with residual moisture or subject to rising damp. Refer to individual data sheets for specific coverage details. Allow the respective primer to dry for a minimum of 24 hours before applying the membrane.

Note: Please refer to the data sheets for the above primers before using.
