Methylated Spirits

Methylated Spirits 95% is a denatured alcohol commonly used as an adhesive thinner for certain adhesives and as a general-purpose cleaning agent on non-porous surfaces.

Uses

• Cleaning solvent for non-sensitive surfaces
• Removing and cleaning up many adhesives
• Preparing and cleaning substrates and tools before adhesive or sealant application
• Thinner for some adhesives (test product on a small inconspicuous spot to ensure product does not stain)

Application Guide

Ensure adequate ventilation and test on a surface before use to ensure compatibility. Use in well-ventilated areas and wear appropriate protective gear such as overalls, safety shoes, impervious gloves, and safety glasses. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and inhalation of fumes. In case of spillage, clear the area of all unprotected personnel, absorb with sand or soil, and refer to the State/Territory Land Waste Management Authority for disposal.

Limitations

This product may cause skin irritation and sensitization in sensitive individuals. Please consult the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for further information.

Additional Information

If poisoning occurs, contact a Doctor or Poisons Information Centre. In case of ingestion, do not induce vomiting; seek medical advice immediately. For eye contact, flush eyes with water for at least 15 minutes and see a doctor. If skin contact occurs, remove contaminated clothing and wash skin thoroughly. Seek medical advice if irritation occurs. For inhalation, remove from contaminated area and seek medical advice.
